Ways to Give
Your Gift Changes Lives
Your generosity helps us support people at every step.
No matter how you choose to give to the Mental Health Association of Frederick County (MHA), your gift helps build stronger futures for those we serve.
Ways to Give
-
Community members like you can make a donation to MHA any time to ensure our programs and services remain available to those who need them. Give online here, or send a check made payable to:

Consistent support creates lasting change. As a recurring donor, you help ensure that individuals and families facing mental health challenges have ongoing access to compassionate care and support. Start your monthly gift online here or contact our Development Office to get started.
-
A honorary or memorial gift to MHA is a meaningful way to honor someone important in your life or remember a loved one. Each gift helps provide compassionate support and resources for individuals and families in our community. Give online here, or send a check made payable to:

Gifting appreciated stock allows you to turn your financial planning into a lifeline for others. These options can provide you with significant tax advantages while ensuring MHA has stable, long-term resources. We recommend consulting with your financial advisor to see how these strategic philanthropic gifts can benefit you and MHA.
-
Your generosity may go further than you think. Many employers match charitable contributions, allowing you to double your impact. Ask your employer if they offer a matching gift program.
-
Giving through a donor-advised fund allows you to support MHA’s programs and services in an easy, tax-efficient manner. It’s an opportunity to give where support is needed most, in your own way. Contact your tax advisor for more details.
-
If you are 70 ½ or older, you can use your qualified Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to donate up to $100,000 annually directly to a charity such as MHA. The amount transferred is not taxed as income and may satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution. This is also referred to as a Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD).
-
An endowment provides lasting support for MHA’s work. Your investment helps sustain our programs and services over time, while offering a meaningful way to recognize a loved one or reflect your commitment to mental wellness.
-
Including MHA in your estate plans—such as your will or trust, or making MHA a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy—can be a simple way to make a significant impact on our community’s mental wellness for many years to come. Contact your attorney or tax advisor to see if these ways to contribute are right for you.
The Mental Health Association of Frederick County (MHA) is a 501(c)(3) organization, tax ID #52-0968521. All contributions to MHA are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
