Child Care Choices

Child Care Choices supports parents through home visits to first time parents and by helping them search for child care, find resources for a child with social, emotional or behavioral issues, or explore after-school activities and programs.

Child Care Choices offers training and continuing education opportunities for professionals, technical assistance for start up or continued operation of a child care business, a resource room and lending library, and resources and tools for educators.

Child Care Choices understands that the quality and stability of today’s work force depends on the quality and reliability of the child care available to their children. The issue is a national one, but parents and employers right here in our community are feeling the effects every day of the work week. Child Care Choices distributes a newsletter on early childhood topics, offers training and continuing education opportunities for professionals, sponsors the annual Children’s Festival held at Baker Park, provides speakers on child development and child care related topics, and supplies multiple publications related to child care.

Child Care Choices is a program of the Mental Health Association of Frederick County, a United Way Agency, and a member agency of the Maryland Child Care Resource Network with funding from the Maryland State Department of Education. Child Care Choices is also supported by private contributions and user fees.
